A wine flight at Belle Wine Bar on Jl. Monkey Forest, Ubud, costs IDR 295,000 for four pours with artisan cheese and chocolate, before 11% tax and 8% service. The bar takes no reservations, is closed on Mondays according to its own website, and opens at 4pm.
Those figures come from the PDF menu and the opening hours on belleubud.com, checked on 31 October 2026. Honeycombers Bali (Ubud bar guide, 28 August 2026) lists the hours as daily 4pm-11pm, so the sources disagree about Monday. If you plan a Monday visit, message the bar on the WhatsApp number shown on its website first.
What the room feels like
Belle is a small, European-style wine bar among the shops of Monkey Forest Road. The music stays low, there is no DJ or band, and people come to talk over shared cheese boards. It fills up after dinner, roughly 7.30pm-9.30pm, when the small tables go fast. Arrive before 6pm if you want a seat without waiting.
What you will spend
- By the glass: Sababay Reserve (Balinese wine) IDR 100k, Mount Rozier Pinot Noir IDR 125k, 19 Crimes Shiraz IDR 165k, Leo Buring Riesling IDR 185k.
- Bottles: from IDR 500k (Sababay) up to about IDR 2.3 million in the champagne section.
- Flights at IDR 295k: The Reds, The Whites or The Rainbow (sparkling rosé through to pinot noir).
- Food: cheese board IDR 165k petite or IDR 375k to share, charcuterie and cheese IDR 180k-395k, burrata IDR 250k, two crostini IDR 60k. Ubud-made vegan cheese is available.
Rough maths for two: two flights and a sharing cheese board come to IDR 965k, about IDR 1.15 million once tax and service are added (roughly AUD 105). If the local wine in your first glass interests you, the vineyard story is in our Sababay Winery visit.
The downsides
Belle does not serve cocktails. Beyond wine, the drinks list is Island Brewing Pilsner at IDR 65k and smoothies. The walk-in policy is also awkward for groups of more than four on Friday and Saturday nights. If you want a wine bar with a fuller tapas list and bookable tables, Bacari on Jl. Goutama suits you better.
To stay within walking distance of Monkey Forest Road and skip the ride home, AccessiaPass hotel vouchers for Ubud are a reasonable place to start.
Dress code, age and getting home
There is no posted dress code; neat casual is fine. The legal age to buy alcohol in Indonesia is 21, so bring ID. Four pours in one flight add up, so do not ride a scooter afterwards; from here you can walk to most central Ubud stays or book a ride-hailing car. Other bars in the area are covered in our Ubud, Sanur and Jimbaran nightlife article.
