Banana Lounge vs Mana Uluwatu: Which Pool Club Should You Pick?

Banana Lounge Bali on Gang Sedana in Bingin opens its 18 x 6 metre pool to anyone who orders food or drinks, with no entry ticket, daily from 7am to 11pm (official site and Honeycombers, checked 30 October 2026). Mana Uluwatu on the Suluban cliffs uses a minimum spend of about IDR 250k and seats are first come, first served. Both are in Pecatu, a few minutes apart by road, yet they feel very different.

Atmosphere and busy hours

Banana Lounge feels like a restaurant's garden pool. By day it fills with surfers coming up from Impossibles and families with children; near sunset people move up to the Ocean Deck. The site lists no scheduled DJs. The regular fixtures are food nights: Taco Tuesday, Warung Wednesday with Balinese dishes, Skewer Saturday, and Salty Sunday with BBQ from 11am plus roast dinners. Dress code, age, booking

Honeycombers lists Banana Lounge as family-friendly, so children can come. The drinking age of 21 still applies (Bali drinking age rules); bring your passport. Swimwear is fine around the pool; cover up when you move to a dining table. Book through the form on the site or the WhatsApp number listed there; for an Ocean Deck table at sunset, booking is the safer bet.

Downsides to know

• Access is down a narrow lane off Jl. Tanjung Simah; a scooter or ride-hail bike is easier than a large car.
• It closes at 11pm, so it is not a place to keep partying.
• The pool does not face the ocean. If you want a sunset photo from the water, Mana is the better call.
• Honeycombers notes that day clubs usually have no lifeguard; watch your own children.

Heading home late in Pecatu

On 27 October 2026 detikBali reported that two Saudi nationals stabbed a security guard and two ride-hailing drivers outside a nightclub in Pecatu after being removed from it. If you leave late, wait for your ride in the lit area at the venue entrance and keep away from roadside scuffles.

The verdict

Choose Banana Lounge if you have kids with you, want a full pool day without a minimum spend, or have just surfed Impossibles Beach, which Honeycombers puts at a 5-minute walk. Choose Mana if a clifftop sunset and a party mood come first.
