This rooftop beer garden sits on Jl. Katik Lantang in Singakerta, a few kilometres south-west of central Ubud. It opened in April 2024 (NOW! Bali, 25 April 2024) and bills itself as Ubud's first rooftop bar, looking west over the jungle canopy and rice fields. The vibe and the busiest hours

This is a relaxed sunset bar, not a club. Expect acoustic sets or a DJ on certain nights and last orders before the 11pm close, so if you want to dance late, central Ubud suits you better, for example Laughing Buddha Bar or CP Lounge, which stays open later. Most people come for 5-7pm, when the sun drops behind the trees.

How much are the cocktails and beer?

Regular events, dress code and age limit

The events page on the official site lists handpan music every Wednesday 5-7pm, an Italian Night with a pasta station and DJ every Friday 7-9pm, and Live Acoustic Sunday with a BBQ buffet 7-9pm, all with free entry. The page shows no update date, so confirm by WhatsApp or Instagram before going for a specific event.

No dress code is published. The drinks menu on Chope is labelled 21+, in line with Indonesia's legal drinking age; bring your passport.

An honest verdict

You pay for the view, not the kitchen. On Chope the atmosphere scores 5.0 but food only 4.1; a June 2025 review called it overpriced and said the venue was empty, and a December 2024 review found the steak chewy. Come for one or two sunset drinks, then eat dinner elsewhere.
