At The View, Biu Biu Resort's clifftop bar-restaurant above Balangan Beach, you can get two classic cocktails for IDR 260,000++ all day, or about IDR 315,000 after 11% tax and 10% service. That figure comes from the official menu uploaded to Chope in January 2026, checked on 29 October 2026. The resort used to be called La Joya Biu-Biu, so many older reviews still use that name.
The mood: sunset first, then a quiet evening
This is not a club. The draw is a semi-open terrace facing west over Balangan Bay, with the resort's infinity pool below. It is busiest just before sunset, roughly 5:30-7pm; after dark it settles into relaxed dinners with music. The menu even lists free board games (Monopoly, Uno, Jenga), a sign that it suits a long sit with friends more than a party.
What it costs
- Classic cocktails: Margarita, Negroni, Mai Tai, Espresso Martini IDR 149k++; Aperol Spritz IDR 175k++; Hendrick's Tonic IDR 190k++.
- Signature cocktails: IDR 175k++ (for example Sunset Arak Fusion, Biu Biu Cliff Breeze).
- Beer: Bintang IDR 72k++, or a bucket of 3 bottles for IDR 200k++ all day.
- Shisha: IDR 320-420k++.
- Food: margherita pizza IDR 170k++, 250 g ribeye IDR 519k++. Chope lists IDR 250-400k per person.
Budget sunset: one Bintang bucket split three ways, about IDR 81k each after tax and service.
Pool, minimum spend and what is unclear
Older guides from Tripcanvas and The Yak say non-guests can use the pool with a minimum F&B spend, but the figures differ: IDR 250k versus IDR 200k, and neither is dated. A Trip.com listing says the property was renovated in 2026. So ask when booking whether the pool is still open to non-guests and what the minimum is.
No dress code or age limit is published; the drinks menu on Chope is labelled 21+, in line with the rules in our article on the drinking age in Bali.
The downsides
A July 2026 review on Chope gave 3 stars, saying the food was underwhelming for the price even though the view and service were great. The overall Chope score is 4.0 from 11 reviews. Come for the view and a drink; for a serious dinner, Uluwatu has more options.
The road down to Balangan is narrow, dark and steep. If you have more than a drink or two, go home with a driver or a ride-hailing car, not on a scooter. If you would rather stay near Balangan and skip the late drive, check Uluwatu-area hotel vouchers on AccessiaPass.
