At TAKE Authentic Japanese Cuisine on Jl. Patih Jelantik, Legian, a bowl of ramen costs IDR 89,000, a California roll IDR 99,800 and a pair of salmon aburi nigiri IDR 59,800 according to the digital menu on its official website, before 11% tax and 10% service. The site does not require bookings, but its "Reservation" button goes to WhatsApp, which is the safest route for groups.
What is on the menu?
The 45-page flipbook menu linked from takebali.com covers soups, salads, appetisers, robatayaki (grilled fish and meat), nigiri, temaki, gunkan, maki, udon, soba and ramen. Many dishes carry a pork icon, including the whole "Pork Ramen" page. The site mentions more than 2,000 items, live seafood and two dining floors.
How much does it cost?
- Nigiri (2 pieces): salmon aburi IDR 59,800, salmon toro aburi IDR 75,500, unagi IDR 132,000, otoro aburi IDR 210,000.
- Maki: tekka maki IDR 62,800, California roll and futo maki IDR 99,800 each.

With the 21% added, ramen comes to about IDR 107,700 and a California roll about IDR 120,800. The menu pages were last updated in April 2025 according to the server header, so prices at the table may be a little higher.
Do you need to book?
For two people at a normal hour, the site mentions no booking requirement. For groups or weekend dinners, book via the WhatsApp number on takebali.com (+62 896-0267-3570). Chope also lists TAKE in its Legian guide (updated January 2026) at IDR 100,000-250,000 per person.
Opening hours?
Official site: 12pm-10pm. Third-party listings give other versions (12pm-9pm, and also 11am-11:30pm), so arrive before 9pm to be safe.
What are the downsides?
Prices are tourist-area prices; Coconuts' guide says as much, and ramen at about IDR 107k after tax costs more than ramen shops in Denpasar. The pork-heavy menu does not suit diners looking for halal food, and the site mentions no halal certification. On the plus side, TAKE has been around for a long time and Google Maps showed a 4.6 rating from more than 2,500 reviews when checked. To compare with a newer izakaya in Legian, read our Mister Wasabi review; for a cheap supper afterwards, Sate Babi Bawah Pohon is also in Legian.
