Adiwana Warnakali Nusa Penida: Read This Before You Book

Adiwana Warnakali in Sakti village, Nusa Penida, has just 15 suites and deluxe rooms plus a handful of private pool villas, all with balconies facing the sea and Mount Agung across the strait. The resort is built into a cliff about 20 metres above the shore, and that single fact decides whether it suits you.

Room types

  • Grand Deluxe Ocean View, 56 m², 3 units on the upper level, recently upgraded.
  • Ocean View Suite, 64 m², 8 units on the lower level with a wide balcony.
  • Premier Ocean Suite, 64 m², 4 units with a bathtub on the balcony.
  • One Bedroom Pool Villa with Ocean View, 95 m², king bed, private pool, up to 2 adults.
  • Two Bedroom Pool Villa with Ocean View, private pool, for families or small groups.

Suites and deluxe rooms take 2 adults and 1 child. According to the official site, every room has air conditioning, a minibar, coffee and tea facilities, a safe, kimonos, turndown service and free Wi-Fi.

Facilities

The infinity pool sits next to the semi-open Warnakali Restaurant, which has a pool bar. The menu mixes Indonesian dishes, seafood, pasta, pizza and burgers. There is Tejas Spa for Balinese massage and the Dune Dive Center, which runs PADI courses and dives in search of manta rays and mola mola. The resort also arranges snorkelling at Manta Point, Crystal Bay and Gamat Bay. Its website lists a Tripadvisor Best of the Best 2025 award.

The honest downsides

  • Stairs. Tripadvisor guests repeatedly mention a steep slope down to reception and several flights of steps to the rooms; one had to walk down eight flights. Not a good fit for older travellers, wheelchair users or anyone who struggles with steps.
  • Access. It is about 20 minutes by car from the harbour on a road guests describe as rough. A 10-15 minute footpath leads to the beach and harbour, but it involves steps and sand and needs decent fitness.
  • Not a beach resort. The sea is below the cliff. You enjoy it from your balcony and the pool rather than walking straight onto sand.
  • Opaque pricing. The official site only shows rates through its booking engine. Aggregators list from roughly US$87-100 a night for the cheapest room (checked September 2026), and villa rates are not published.

Who is it for?

It makes most sense for divers, couples and guests who want a spacious sea-view room without paying luxury clifftop villa prices. Families with toddlers or guests with limited mobility should pick somewhere flat; compare other areas in our guide to choosing where to stay on Nusa Penida. Booking and location

  • Location: Sakti, Nusa Penida, Klungkung. View on Google Maps
  • Booking: the booking engine on the official adiwanahotels.com site (it claims a Best Rate Guarantee) or the resort's reservations email. Ask about harbour transfers when you book.

Ask for an upper-level room if you want fewer steps from the car park, and pack a light bag rather than a big suitcase.
