MĀUA Olea Ubud Is Open: Villas, Offers and the Downsides

MĀUA Olea Ubud, Swiss-Belhotel International's new eco-luxury resort, is now taking guests on Jalan Raya Pengosekan in Mas, Ubud. Medcom.id reported its soft opening on 9 June 2026, Swiss-Belhotel's own press release says it has officially opened, and the official website (checked 27 October 2026) is taking bookings with offers that run into 2027.

It is the second MĀUA property in Bali after MĀUA Nusa Penida. The theme is the olive tree (olea) plus the Māori idea of togetherness, so olive oil and jamu show up in the menu, the spa and the welcome drink.

What's new in Pengosekan

According to the Living Spaces page on the official site, you choose between private-pool villas and upper-floor suites.

  • Olea Studio Villa with Private Pool: 110 m², one king bed, bathtub facing the pool.
  • Olea Prestige 1-Bedroom Pool Villa: 120 m², separate living room and bedroom.
  • Olea Signature 2-Bedroom Pool Villa: 230 m², two connected villas with two pools and a pantry.
  • Suites (Premier Balcony Suite): upper floor, balcony over the main pool.

Facilities: Kōwhai restaurant (07:00-22:00, Indonesian, Chinese, Indian and Western), Aroha Wine & Bar (11:00-23:00), Pounamu Wellness & Spa (09:00-21:00) with Ayurvedic treatments such as Shirodhara, a yoga shala from 07:00-09:00, a gym and a pool open 07:00-20:00.

How much does it cost?

The official site does not publish a fixed rate; prices only appear in the booking engine once you pick dates. Offers listed on 27 October 2026: Roomtober Fest at up to 35% off (valid until 7 February 2027), 25% off villas for Visa cardholders (until 4 January 2027) and Stay 3 Pay 2 for Mastercard with code MCSTAYPAY (until 31 July 2027). A deposit of IDR 1,000,000 (about US$60) is taken at check-in by credit card or cash. If you want to compare with a voucher price, check whether MĀUA Olea is on the AccessiaPass hotel list before booking direct.

Who it suits, and the downsides

It works best for couples, guests coming for spa and yoga, and anyone who wants to walk to the Sacred Monkey Forest and newer Pengosekan restaurants such as KAJA by Numa. The woodcarving galleries of Mas village are in the same area.

Downsides to know about:

  • No halal food. The official FAQ says only pork-free dishes are available on request.
  • Upper-floor suites are reachable by stairs only, according to the Secret Escapes listing. Choose a villa if you travel with older relatives or heavy luggage.
  • Room service hours differ across the hotel's own site: the FAQ says 07:00-22:00, the dining page says 06:30-23:00. Ask at check-in.
  • The hotel is only a few months into operation, so guest reviews are still few and independent comparisons are thin.

Getting there and booking

  • Location: Jl. Raya Pengosekan, Mas, Ubud, Gianyar. View on Google Maps

  • Booking: via mauahotel.com/olea-ubud, the phone/email on the official Contact page, or an AccessiaPass stay voucher where available.
