Batu Belah Waterfall in Dewasana, Pendem, Jembrana district, has no entrance ticket. According to InfoJembrana (29 August 2025), visitors simply leave a voluntary donation for upkeep. Locals call it Cegur, and Google Maps lists it as "Cegur Holy Water". It sits about 9 km north of Negara town, roughly 20 minutes by scooter.
What is the waterfall like?
Not tall. Spring water from the hills drops between low rock walls into a natural pool that is fairly deep and clear. Come for a soak rather than a dramatic waterfall photo. Some visitors jump from the rocks into the pool; check the depth first and skip the jump when the water is murky.
What is Puncak Mawar, and can you combine the two?
Yes. Puncak Mawar is a forest-edge hill viewpoint in the same hamlet, a few minutes on foot from the waterfall. It is run by the Puncak Mawar forest farmers' group (KTH) and looks over the rolling hills of Jembrana. A detikBali report from June 2022 noted weathered wooden benches and photo spots, plus plans for a 700-metre forest trail. No 2026 source describes its current state, so expect basic facilities at best.
What is the trail like?
The footpath to the waterfall is still bare earth, and the walk from the parking area up to Puncak Mawar is steep. After rain both get muddy and slippery, so wear hiking sandals or shoes with good grip. There is no information on toilets, food stalls or staff, so bring your own water and a bag for rubbish.
When is the water flow good?
Flow picks up once the rainy season starts. Avoid the height of the dry season: Pendem was among the areas hit by drought from 25 May 2026 according to the AHA Centre, and the Jembrana disaster agency was still trucking clean water to residents in August 2026. In dry months the falls can be far weaker than the photos on social media.
Who should skip it?
Families with toddlers, wheelchair users, and anyone who wants proper facilities. The site is not formally managed. The "Holy Water" label on the map signals that locals revere this water, so dress modestly and do not use soap or shampoo in the pool.
