Seken Bali in Seminyak: Cocktail Prices, Jazz Nights, Hours

Seken Bali is open Wednesday to Saturday from 8pm to 2am on the second floor of IZE Seminyak, Jl. Kayu Aya No. 68, directly above Meja Kitchen. Cocktails cost IDR 160-200k, plus 10% tax and 7% service (checked September 2026).

Who runs the bar

The bar programme is led by Charles Richard, winner of Diageo World Class Indonesia 2025, who spent more than 20 years at venues such as Buddha Bar Dubai and Hakkasan Shanghai. Seken opened in late 2025. The name works in two languages: "second" for the second floor and the upcycled design, and "seken", Balinese for wholehearted.

What to order and what it costs

The list has two parts. The Second Pour includes Osmanthus Highball, Velvet Vibe and Silky Smoke (IDR 170-180k), plus Smoky Godfather at IDR 200k. The First Pour starts at IDR 160k and includes Late Night Riff, made with dark rum, Kintamani cold brew and aged cheddar foam. For aged drinks, the Barrel-Aged Vieux Carré is IDR 280k and the Rosita en Cuero IDR 250k. Not drinking? Bali Pletok is IDR 100k and the Amarena Sour IDR 110k.

Bar snacks run IDR 65-130k (Nacho Cheese up to Mac and Beef), the Double Smashed Burger is IDR 120k and beers are IDR 90-120k. Two IDR 170k cocktails and a Fritto Misto come to roughly IDR 485k after tax and service, about USD 30.

Music and mood

Seken is built as a listening bar, not a club. According to NOW! Bali, Wednesdays and Fridays feature live jazz bands, while Thursdays and Saturdays have DJ sets leaning on jazz, soul and funk. The official site says Thursday entry is free. Performers change weekly, so check Instagram before you go.

Who it doesn't suit

If you want a dance floor or happy-hour prices, look elsewhere. The bar is closed Sunday to Tuesday, and on Wednesday and Thursday the kitchen only serves 8pm-10pm (last order 11:30pm on Friday and Saturday), so eat dinner first. Sources also disagree on hours: NOW! Bali listed Monday-Saturday 6pm-2am in 2025, while the official site now shows Wednesday-Saturday 8pm-2am. Go by the official site.

The menu prints the alcohol content of every drink, and the barrel-aged serves and Smoky Godfather sit around 24-28%. Two of those add up, so don't ride a scooter home along busy Jl. Kayu Aya after midnight.
