Bali Airport Immigration Fast Track: How Much, and Do You Need It?

The immigration office at Ngurah Rai does not sell fast track. The official priority lane at Bali's airport is free and meant for specific groups: the elderly, children, pregnant women, travellers with disabilities, and Indonesian migrant workers. What sells for US$70 to US$1,500 per person is private meet-and-assist service, where someone meets you at the aircraft door and walks you past the queues and through baggage. All prices below were checked in October 2026.

How much does fast track cost at Ngurah Rai?

• Wandernesia (also sold via Expedia and Travelocity): US$70 for arrival or departure, US$120 for arrival including Visa on Arrival handling. Children pay the adult rate.
• Bali Fast Track Airport (run by Bali Premium Trip): Essential US$105 per person per service, VIP US$500 with lounge and car, VVIP US$1,500. Children 2-11 pay half, infants under 2 are free.
• Not included: the Rp500,000 VOA (if you have no e-VOA), the Rp150,000 foreign tourist levy, extra porters, and transport to your hotel.

These are operator prices, not government fees. We could not find any published price list for a comparable service from the airport operator, InJourney.

Who gets the free priority lane?

According to the Bali High Prosecutor's Office and Immigration during the 2023 bribery case, the fast track at Ngurah Rai is for the elderly, children, pregnant women and Indonesian migrant workers, plus people with disabilities, and no fee is charged. In 2022 Immigration also mentioned a dedicated counter for foreigners aged 60 and over. We found no 2026 rule changing this. How to use it: tell an officer at the immigration hall before you join the general queue. If you use a wheelchair, request assistance from your airline at check-in at your departure airport.

Which is faster, fast track or autogate?

If you qualify, the autogate is usually enough. Immigration says each gate check takes 15-25 seconds, and when the system was launched in October 2024 there were 60 gates in arrivals. You need an electronic passport plus an e-VOA, e-Visa, KITAS, or visa-exempt registration; details are in our article on who can use the autogates. A paid service does not skip that check: Wandernesia itself states that passengers must still scan and have their passports stamped themselves, as the rules require. What you pay for is the escort, help with bags, and a shortcut through the queue to the counter.

When are the immigration queues worst?

Neither Immigration nor the airport publishes waiting times. The pattern: queues build when several wide-body flights land close together, especially around midday and towards midnight, and in July-August and at year end. Manual VOA buyers and holders of non-chip passports are hit hardest because they must use the counters. Getting your e-VOA online before you fly is the cheapest way to avoid that.

Watch out for touts and bribes

In November 2023, Bali prosecutors detained Ngurah Rai immigration officers over alleged extortion of Rp100,000-250,000 per foreigner on the fast track lane, said to total hundreds of millions of rupiah a month. In March 2025 the case was dropped for lack of evidence. The lesson is simple: do not pay cash to anyone in the arrivals area offering a "fast lane". Legitimate private services are booked in advance with a voucher in your name, and immigration officers do not take money for the priority lane.

What about departure?

International departures have had 30 autogates since October 2024, with similar eligibility. Private operators sell departure escorts at the same price as arrivals (US$70 at Wandernesia). Departure immigration queues are usually shorter, but security screening and check-in are often the bottleneck, so arriving early is more useful than paying for an escort.

So, do you need it?

• No, if you have an electronic passport and an e-VOA or visa-exempt registration. The autogate is faster and free.
• Ask for the free priority lane if you are elderly, pregnant, travelling with an infant, or use a wheelchair.
• Worth considering if your passport has no chip, you land at a peak time with a child under 6 who must use the manual counter, or you need help with a lot of luggage.
