Paisley at Mata Berawa: Hours, Live Music and Prices

Paisley, the speakeasy bar inside the Mata Berawa compound (Jl. Subak Sari No. 13, Tibubeneng), is open until 10pm Sunday to Thursday and until 2am on Friday and Saturday, according to its official website (checked October 2026). Musician Marcello Tahitoe opened the compound in March 2026, and it has three parts: the Warung for Indonesian food, Paisley for drinks and live music, and the Live byChance boutique by the entrance.

What people get wrong before going

• Weekend closing time. NOW! Bali and How to Bali list 4am. Mata Berawa's own website and FAQ say 2am. Go with the official site.
• It is a bar, not a club. Paisley runs on "listening over loudness": low volume, conversation still possible, no dance floor.
• The music is original. The "Live at Mata" programme gives the stage to new artists with one rule: no covers. The site also mentions a monthly band session called "Proving Grounds". Line-ups are only announced on Instagram, so check before you go if live music is the reason for your visit.
• Cocktail prices are not published. The site names a few drinks: the Mata Negroni (pineapple-honey gin, jackfruit vermouth, Campari), Harvest Storm (sesame-washed bourbon) and Karamata (Balinese arak with jackfruit, pineapple and lychee). Ask for prices at the bar before ordering a round.
• Eating at the Warung first is cheap. Indonesian dishes on the official menu cost Rp22,500-36,250 each, such as beef rendang, shredded smoked tuna and chicken sate lilit. The Western menu costs far more: burgers Rp122,500-197,500, pasta Rp147,500.
• You usually don't need to book. Walk-ins are the norm. For groups or specific live-session nights, the site suggests messaging on Instagram or WhatsApp ahead.

Who it doesn't suit

Anyone looking to party until sunrise will be disappointed, since the bar closes at 10pm from Sunday to Thursday. The official site lists no dress code or age limit.
