An ASDP ferry ticket from Padangbai to Lembar costs Rp65,300 one way for an adult foot passenger, Rp169,400 for a motorbike (class II) and Rp1,184,100 for a passenger car (class IV). Ferries leave 13 times a day in each direction, around the clock, and the crossing takes about 4.5 hours. Tickets are sold online only through Ferizy; there is no cash counter at the port. Fares and times below come from the schedule issued by BPTD Kelas II NTB (the Lembar ferry unit) as published by IDN Times NTB for September 2026, checked on 17 October 2026.
How much is the Padangbai-Lembar ferry in 2026?
- Adult foot passenger: Rp65,300 (about US$4)
- Infant: Rp6,100
- Class I (bicycle): Rp81,600
- Class II (motorbike under 500 cc): Rp169,400
- Class III (motorbike 500 cc and over): Rp329,600
- Class IV passenger (car up to 5 metres): Rp1,184,100
- Class V passenger (minibus 5-7 metres): Rp2,251,300
The same figures appear in schedule reports from January, March, April and August 2026, so the fare has held steady all year. Under Indonesia's ferry tariff scheme, a vehicle fare already covers the driver and passengers inside, but Ferizy still asks for each person's details. Check the total on screen before you pay. The government discount offered over Lebaran and the school holidays (until 5 July 2026) has ended.
What time do ferries leave Padangbai?
According to the BPTD NTB schedule for 2 September 2026, ferries leave Padangbai at 00:00, 01:30, 04:00, 06:30, 09:00, 11:30, 13:30, 15:00, 16:30, 18:00, 19:30, 21:00 and 22:30 WITA. Departures from Lembar to Padangbai run at the same times. The vessel assigned to each slot changes daily, and times can slip because of weather or loading queues.
If you are travelling on foot, the 06:30 or 09:00 sailing makes the most sense: you reach Lembar around midday, when transport and drivers to Mataram or Senggigi are still easy to find.
How long is the crossing?
About 4 hours 30 minutes over 38 nautical miles, according to BPTD. In practice it can be 5 hours or more if the ship has to wait for a berth. Add time for boarding queues, especially with a vehicle. During the June 2026 school holidays, the vehicle queue into Padangbai was reported at around 3 km until ASDP added more ships.
How do I buy a ticket on Ferizy?
- Download the Ferizy app (Play Store/App Store) or go to trip.ferizy.com.
- Choose Padangbai as departure, Lembar as destination, regular service, date and port entry time.
- Choose the ticket type: foot passenger, or vehicle with its class.
- Enter passenger details exactly as on your ID (KTP, or passport for foreign visitors), because they are checked at boarding.
- Pay within the time limit using a method offered in the app, then save the e-ticket with its QR code.
You can book up to 60 days ahead. ASDP states that no physical tickets are sold in the port area, so do not wait until you reach Padangbai to book, and ignore anyone selling "tickets" on the road to the port. Arrive within the entry time you selected. A ticket used after its slot risks being voided, unless a special policy applies, such as the 24-hour grace period during the Lebaran 2026 return rush.
Ferry or fast boat to Lombok?
The ferry is far cheaper: Rp65,300, while fast boats to the Gilis or Lombok charge around Rp650,000 and up per person at official rates. The catch is time. On top of 4.5-5 hours at sea, Lembar sits in Lombok's south-west corner, so Senggigi or Bangsal (the port for the Gilis) is another 1-2 hours by road. The ferry makes most sense if you are taking a motorbike or car, travelling on a tight budget, or heading for Mataram and south Lombok. If you are going straight to Gili Trawangan, compare it first with the fast boat from Bali to the Gilis.
What to sort out before heading to Padangbai
- Road time: Padangbai, in Karangasem, is about 55-60 km from Ngurah Rai Airport. Allow 1.5-2 hours via the Ida Bagus Mantra bypass, longer in the late afternoon.
- Rental vehicles: many Bali rental companies do not allow their bikes or cars off the island. Get written permission before booking a class II or IV ticket.
- Original vehicle registration (STNK) must travel with any vehicle crossing.
- Supplies: there is a canteen on board but the choice is limited. Bring water, and motion-sickness tablets if you get seasick.
- Schedule changes: ASDP contact centre 191.
