Entry to Kroya Waterfall in Sambangan village, Sukasada, is listed at Rp20,000 per person, while jumping and sliding are sold as guided packages starting from about Rp120,000. Those figures come from detikBali (2022) and IDN Times Bali (2024). A trekking guide published in May 2026 lists the shortest package at Rp150,000, so bring extra cash (checked September 2026).
Kroya is a waterfall of about 12 metres with a natural pool roughly 4 metres deep, and people come for its natural rock slide. From 20 to 23 May 2026 it hosted the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, the first time the event was held in Indonesia, according to Kompas. For ordinary visitors the jump at Kroya is far lower, around 5 metres.
Morning schedule from Lovina
- 07:00 leave Kalibukbuk. The drive to Sambangan via Singaraja takes about 30-45 minutes.
- 07:45 park and wait for the ticket booth. Listed hours are 08:00-17:00 WITA.
- 08:00 buy a ticket or choose a package, then walk down the steps for about 10 minutes past rice fields to the pool.
- 08:15-09:45 jump and slide with your guide, before tour groups from Lovina arrive.
- 10:00 climb back to the car park. The stairs feel much harder going up.
Ticket only, or a package?
The Rp20,000 ticket covers looking, taking photos and a dip at the edge of the pool. To slide and jump, the operators require a guide, a life jacket and insurance, all included in a package. According to the May 2026 guide:
- Short trek about 1.5 hours, Rp150,000: Aling-Aling, Kroya, Kembar, Pucuk.
- Medium trek about 3 hours, Rp250,000: five waterfalls plus a blue pool.
- Long trek about 5 hours, Rp500,000: seven waterfalls and lunch.
The short trek combines Kroya with Aling-Aling Waterfall and the 5 and 10 metre jumps at Kembar and Pucuk. Guides check water depth and floating logs every morning and can call off the jumps if conditions are unsafe.
Downsides to know
- In the rainy season (roughly November-March) the water turns murky and the flow rises. Water activities can be stopped for the day.
- Not suitable if you cannot swim, even with a life jacket, and hard on bad knees because of the stairs.
- Package prices at the booth and at Lovina tour agents differ. Ask exactly what is included before paying.
- Not every pool in Sambangan is safe for swimming. In April 2026 a visitor drowned at Tembok Barak, another waterfall in the same village.

A 07:00 start is much easier if you spend the night before in Lovina or Singaraja, and hotel vouchers in that area can be checked on AccessiaPass. One last tip: wear water shoes with rubber soles, because the rock at the lip of the slide is slippery and flip-flops get carried off by the current.
