Soléa Rooftop Bar & Restaurant sits on the top floor of the Bali Beach Hotel on Jl. Hang Tuah, Sanur, a ten-storey building from 1966 that went up before Bali capped building heights. The menu was developed with the Locavore Group and the kitchen is run by Valencia-born chef Rafael Martinez Millan. What's New Indonesia put it on its October 2026 list of new tables. Before you go up, here is what people tend to miss.
What people miss
- Ignore the prices on the homepage. The front page of soleabali.com still carries template leftovers (dollar prices, a New York address). The real prices are on the menu page: signature cocktails IDR 165-185k, Negroni IDR 180k, Sidecar IDR 145k, beer IDR 80-120k, mocktails IDR 65k.
- Every price excludes 21% service and tax. A IDR 180k Negroni lands on the bill at about IDR 218k (roughly US$13).
- There are two ways to eat. The bar menu has small and large sharing plates (flatbread IDR 90k, seafood paella IDR 450k). The Soléa tasting menu is IDR 850k for five courses or IDR 1.15 million for seven, with wine pairing at IDR 700k or IDR 1 million.
- The sun sets behind land. Sanur faces east. From this roof you look out over open sea, and according to the official site the sun drops on the distant western horizon. Do not expect it to sink into the ocean the way it does in Uluwatu. For colour over the water, sunrise at Sanur Beach is the better bet.
- Opening hours differ by source. The hotel site says 5pm-midnight, the Soléa site gives a 10.30pm last kitchen order, and Revasi lists dinner service as 5pm-10.15pm. The page for the Mistral bar has disappeared from the official site, so if you want to arrive before 5pm, ask on WhatsApp first.
- Relaxed dress code, but no beachwear. The booking page asks guests not to turn up in swimwear or beach clothes.
- Age. No minimum entry age is published and children are welcome, but alcohol is for 21 and over. The details are in our piece on the legal drinking age in Bali.
- Cancel at least 48 hours ahead, by email or WhatsApp.
Hours, prices, location
- Location: rooftop of the Bali Beach Hotel, The Sanur complex, Jl. Hang Tuah. View on Google Maps
- Hours: from 5pm daily, closing around midnight (checked October 2026).
- Booking: OpenTable or Revasi via the official site, or WhatsApp +62 823 1353 1891 as listed on the official site. Parking available.

One note on getting home: the complex also holds The Meru Sanur and has several entrances. Set your ride-hailing pickup at the Bali Beach Hotel lobby rather than on the side of Jl. Hang Tuah, so the driver does not loop round to the wrong gate.
