Chook & Roos Sports Bar is at Jl. Raya Legian No. 458, Kuta, with more than 80 TVs plus one big LED screen for about 250 guests (160 seated). It soft-opened on 1 June and officially opened on 5 June 2026, so it has been running for almost four months even though it only just appeared on August new-opening lists. Seven things people tend to miss before they go:
1. The name was first printed as "Chug & Roos"
Opening coverage in Bali Buddies and Indonesia Expat used the name Chug & Roos, while NOW! Bali later updated its article to Chook & Roos with the Instagram @chookandroos.bali. If one name does not show up on Google Maps, try the other.
2. No league list has been published
Official material only mentions football finals, Formula 1 and "major Australian competitions". No AFL, NRL or Premier League list has been published. Ask on WhatsApp before a big match, especially if your team is not one of the big names.
3. Work out the time difference
Bali runs on WITA (UTC+8). From 4 October 2026 Sydney and Melbourne switch to daylight saving, so a 7.30pm game there airs at 4.30pm in Bali. A 3pm Premier League kick-off in London lands at 10pm WITA, then 11pm once the UK turns its clocks back on 25 October.
4. Ask for an "Own Your Game" table
Some tables have their own TV, so your group can watch a different match from the main screen. Mention it when you book.
5. Prices and opening hours are not out yet
As checked in September 2026, menu prices and opening hours had not been published in the press coverage. Dishes named so far: The Monkey Roo's Burger (double beef patties, caramelised onion, house sauce), the In N' Out Burger and an Aussie-style Beef Stroganoff. There is a happy hour, but its times have not been announced.
6. There are games and parking
Billiards, beer pong, foosball, darts, pickleball and ping pong are on offer, plus DJs and live music at weekends. Owner Leonard Suwandi told Latest News Bali there is a gym upstairs and enough parking, which is rare on Jl. Legian.
7. The drawbacks
With 80 TVs and weekend DJs, this is no place for a quiet chat. Jl. Legian is jammed with traffic at night and the pavements are narrow; if you leave after midnight, book a ride-hailing car from the front door rather than walking far.
