Red Ruby opens every night from 11pm at Jl. Petitenget No. 919x, Seminyak, and entry is free with a welcome drink if your name is on the guest list before 1am on regular nights. The music is techno and house rather than Top 40, which is what sets it apart from its Petitenget neighbours.
Two rooms, two tempos
At the front, The Terrace is an open-air bar and restaurant with shisha and a soundtrack of downtempo, disco and mellow house. Behind it is the club room, styled after 1970s and 80s New York disco and fitted with a Funktion-One sound system. The programming looks to underground clubs in Berlin and Amsterdam: residents play melodic and deep techno, and international guests take the special nights. The official September 2026 calendar included, for example, Berlin-based DJ Nakadia on 19 September. Since Mirror at Jl. Petitenget 106 held its farewell party on 24 January 2026 after 11 years, Red Ruby is one of the few late-night clubs left on this stretch.
When to go
Doors open at 11pm, but the dance floor only fills between midnight and around 4am, and guest-DJ nights can run until sunrise. Arriving between 11pm and 12:30am keeps you inside the free guest-list hours and ahead of the crush.
What it costs (checked September 2026)
- Regular nights: free entry plus a welcome drink on the Megatix guest list, 11pm to 1am. Mondays add a free drink for women in the same hours.
- Guest-DJ nights: Megatix tickets from IDR 200,000 to IDR 2,000,000 (for example, events on 5 June and 8 August 2026).
- Cocktails: the menu is not published online. Visitor reviews put them at about IDR 150,000++ a glass.
- Tables: booked via WhatsApp. Minimum spend is not published, so ask when you reserve.
- Monthly membership (Silver IDR 100,000, Gold IDR 500,000, Platinum IDR 1,000,000) brings discounted entry to selected events and table priority. It only makes sense if you are staying in Seminyak for a while.
Dress code and age
Red Ruby does not announce a strict dress code, and third-party guides suggest comfortable clubwear you can dance in. Closed shoes are still the safe choice. The Megatix page says 18+, while Indonesia's legal drinking age is 21, so bring your passport and read our guide to the minimum club age in Bali if anyone in your group is under 21.
The downsides
TripAdvisor reviews repeatedly mention a lot of smoking inside the club room, so if smoke bothers you, spend more time on the terrace. The room is also intimate compared with a superclub, so big guest-DJ nights fill fast and build a queue at the door. If you want songs everyone can sing along to, La Favela on Jl. Laksmana is a better fit.
A safety note: the pavement along Jl. Petitenget is narrow and keeps breaking off. When you head home near dawn, book a ride-hailing car and wait in front of the terrace instead of walking on the road shoulder with scooters passing.
