Klive Beach Club Ungasan: Deck Prices, Hours and Getting Home

Klive Beach Club on Jl. Villa Kandara, Ungasan, is open daily from 10am to 10pm, and walking into its Peak Bistro restaurant is free. What you pay for is the seat: from IDR 250,000++ per person on the Sunset Point Deck up to IDR 15 million++ for a private jacuzzi above the sand (official 2026 price list, checked October 2026). Klive calls itself the world's first seven-deck beach club, stepped down the cliff all the way to the beach.

What people usually miss before going

  • Package price is not the same as food and drink credit. A daybed on the Wave Watchers Deck costs IDR 2.5 million++ for four, but only IDR 1.9 million of that is spendable. The BB Bay Deck is IDR 600,000++ for two with IDR 300,000 credit; a Sip N' Chill sofa is IDR 850,000++ with IDR 500,000 credit. Unused credit is not refunded.
  • The pool is for bed bookings only. Cocktail tables on Deck 4 (minimum spend IDR 250,000++ per person) and Peak Bistro do not include the pool, towels, clear kayaks or SUP. Facility access can be added for IDR 250,000++ per person.
  • Add the tax. Classic cocktails are IDR 160,000, signatures IDR 180,000, Negronis IDR 170,000, Bali Hai draught IDR 65,000 and mocktails IDR 90,000, all before 21% tax and service. One classic cocktail ends up around IDR 194,000 (roughly US$12).
  • Online bookings are prepaid and non-refundable. Your table is held for 30 minutes after the booked time, then treated as a no-show. Bring the credit card and ID used for the booking.
  • Walk-ins are fine, queues are likely. Klive's own terms warn that waits at the entrance can be long in peak season and shade at the waiting point is not guaranteed.
  • Not wheelchair or stroller accessible. The official FAQ says so plainly because of the stepped structure. Pets are not allowed either.
  • Bags are checked at the door. Outside food and drink are banned; drones and professional cameras need approval from the marketing team.

Busy hours, music and who it suits

An Aperol Sundowner hour runs daily from 3pm to 7pm, so the upper decks fill up before sunset. According to a 2026 Honeycombers review, DJs play most nights and there is Balinese dance on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. That schedule is not on the official website, so check Instagram before picking a day. Klive closes at 10pm: it is a sunset and dinner venue, not an all-night party.

The website lists no dress code or special age limit. Swimwear is normal on the pool decks, and since Indonesia's legal drinking age is 21, carry your passport or a copy. Details are in our article on the minimum drinking and club entry age in Bali.

The downsides are clear: drink prices are on par with five-star hotels, there are a lot of stairs between decks, and late afternoons can get very crowded. If you only want a meal with an ocean view, the free-entry Peak Bistro is enough.

Getting home and practical info

This is where most people get stuck. According to Klive's FAQ, Grab and Gojek may only drop passengers off in the area, while pick-ups are handled by local taxis. Arrange a driver before you go, and do not ride a scooter home after drinking on the dark cliff roads. See also where in Bali Grab and Gojek cannot pick you up.
