The colourful bean bags on the sand at La Plancha usually carry a minimum spend of around IDR 150-200k per person at sunset. Sources disagree on the figure, and the most recent guide says it varies with season and tides, so ask when you book. La Plancha is open daily from 10am to 11pm at the end of Jl. Mesari Beach in Seminyak, on the Double Six stretch of sand (checked October 2026).
A Spanish-style beach bar since 2010
La Plancha opened in 2010, started by a Spanish founder who wanted to bring the chiringuito, Spain's classic beach shack bar, to Bali. Its official site says it was the first chiringuito-style beach bar on the island. By day it is relaxed and family-friendly, with a kids' menu at IDR 65k and brunch from 10am to 3pm. Sand seating goes out around 4pm and the music climbs as the sun drops.
What to order and what it costs
- Bintang Pilsner IDR 55k; Bintang 4+1 bucket IDR 225k (6:30pm-10pm)
- Signature cocktails IDR 130-150k, such as Mango Tango at IDR 140k and Spicy Margarita at IDR 150k
- Red or white sangria IDR 135k a glass or IDR 550k a jug
- Brick-oven pizza IDR 135-170k; fried calamari IDR 90k; whole grilled fish IDR 260k
- Mocktails IDR 80k; whole coconut IDR 60k
Prices on the official menu exclude 7% service and 10% tax. For two people with two cocktails, a pizza and a snack, budget around IDR 600k.
The downsides
At sunset it is packed, and visitor reviews repeatedly mention slow service, confusion over the minimum spend and cocktails that feel weak for the price. Shade is limited, so midday on the sand is hot. Parking on Jl. Mesari is tight. If you want big DJs, a pool and daybeds, this is not a beach club; for a sunset from above with real chairs, Double-Six Rooftop is close by.

About the sea: currents off Seminyak can be strong, so swim only between the lifeguards' red-and-yellow flags and not after a few glasses of sangria.
