Mauri Restaurant is the contemporary Italian restaurant of chef Maurizio Bombini at Jl. Petitenget No. 100, Seminyak. Named after the chef’s childhood nickname, Mauri has brought the flavours of Puglia — the “heel” of Italy’s boot — to Bali since 2018. It is still going strong in 2026: NOW! Bali featured it in April 2026, and its official website carries the latest menus and booking links.
The Chef, the Room & the Awards
- Chef-owner: Maurizio Bombini hails from Puglia and learned to cook in his parents’ restaurant on the Adriatic coast. Before opening Mauri, he led Il Ristorante at Bulgari Resort Bali and the kitchens of Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud.
- An intimate room: around 40 seats facing the open kitchen, plus a 5-seat Chef’s Table for private tastings, in a calm Puglia-style interior.
- Wine: the wine list has earned the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year since 2021, with strengths in Italian labels and Bordeaux.
Menu Format & Price Range
- À la carte: from Tonno crudo with burrata and pomelo to house-made pasta such as Cavatelli with red prawns or Parmigiano Ravioli in onion consommé, through to Black Angus Filetto di Manzo and wagyu rib eye.
- Signature Tasting Menu: around IDR 980,000++ per person; add a regular wine pairing for around IDR 880,000++ or a mocktail pairing for around IDR 450,000++.
- Discovery Tasting Menu: 6 courses composed daily by Chef Maurizio from the “market of the day”, around IDR 1.4–1.5 million++.
- Dessert: Mauri-style Tiramisu or Giandujotto for around IDR 160,000++.
All menu prices exclude 10% government tax and 8% service charge, and may change with market availability.
Tips Before You Go
- Book a few days ahead, especially for Friday to Sunday or if you want a seat at the Chef’s Table.
- Mention allergies or dietary restrictions when booking, as the tasting menus change with seasonal produce.
- Jalan Petitenget gets congested around dinnertime; a taxi or ride-hailing app is easier than hunting for parking.
- Smart casual attire suits the fine-dining atmosphere best.
