Hungry Bird Coffee Roaster Canggu: House-Roasted Coffee, Brunch & Work-Friendly Tables

Long before Canggu filled up with new cafés, Hungry Bird Coffee Roaster was already roasting its own coffee, starting in 2013. Besides serving guests at its café in Tibubeneng, not far from Berawa, the roastery supplies beans to many cafés in Bali and other Indonesian cities. The result: consistent coffee, filling brunch plates and a comfortable place to work.

Coffee: Espresso, Filter & Beans to Take Home

• Espresso bar: milk coffees in 7 oz or 12 oz, espresso, plus ice white and frappés. Milk can be swapped for coconut, soy, almond or Oatly.
• Balinese single origin: washed, natural or honey process, served as hot or iced filter coffee. The roastery is also known for manual brewing such as V60, AeroPress and Chemex.
• Signature blends: visitors often recommend the Berawa blend and Made in Canggu blend. Ask the barista which bagged beans are available that day to take home as a souvenir.

Brunch Favourites & Work Vibe

• Pancakes: Banana, Choco Berry or Blueberry. The banana pancake is the one reviewers praise most.
• Oats: the Naughty Monkey, an oat bowl with fresh fruit, ideal for a light breakfast.
• Breakfast & lunch: Monster Breakfast and Egg Benedict; from 10 am there is nasi goreng, mie goreng and Garlic Basil Noodle.
• Laptop-friendly: WiFi, communal tables and power outlets in the work area. The air-conditioned upstairs can get quite cold, so bring a light jacket.
• Busy hours: mornings through brunch tend to be crowded. Arrive early if you need a table near a socket.

• Access & parking: parking is available; a scooter is the most practical way around Canggu’s busy roads.
• Opening hours: daily, around 7 am–5 pm (some listings say from 8 am).
• Prices: coffee about Rp 30,000–60,000, pancakes and oats Rp 36,000–55,000, a big breakfast about Rp 64,000 (delivery menu prices as of September 2026; in-store prices may differ). Budget roughly Rp 80,000–150,000 per person.
