At the end of Jalan Pantai Batu Mejan, among the surfboard warungs of Echo Beach, COMO Uma Canggu sits genuinely on the shoreline — not merely “five minutes from the beach”. That is what separates it from most Canggu hotels: the Echo Beach reef break is right behind the fence, and a 115-metre lagoon pool cuts through the property down to the black sand.
Rooms, Penthouses and the 115-Metre Lagoon Pool
The resort runs 119 rooms and suites facing either the lagoon or the ocean, plus 12 three-bedroom duplex penthouses with private rooftop pools and butler service. The interior palette is deliberately quiet so that the view outside the window does the talking.
- Best for: surfers who want to sleep near the line-up, families with children (Play by COMO covers ages 4–12), and couples who want Canggu without club noise.
- Less suited to: anyone chasing a party until dawn — COMO deliberately keeps a calm, hotel-style rhythm.
- Access: roughly 60–90 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport depending on traffic; the resort is EarthCheck Silver certified.
COMO Beach Club: Not Your Usual Canggu Beach Club
COMO Beach Club is the social heart of the resort and welcomes non-staying guests by reservation. What sets it apart from the giant venues around Berawa: a small footprint, live acoustic sets and DJs that never turn deafening, and a Balinese–international menu sitting alongside the COMO Shambhala wellness line. For something lighter there is the Glow Juice Bar.
- Service hours: breakfast 07.00–10.30, lunch 12.00–15.00, bar snacks 15.00–22.00, dinner 18.00–22.00.
- Sunday brunch every Sunday, 11.00–15.00.
- Daybed with pool access for non-staying guests: budget a minimum spend of around Rp500,000 per person, confirmed at booking.
Spa, Surf and How to Pay Less per Night
COMO Shambhala Retreat opens 10.00–19.00 and accepts outside visitors: massages, body therapies, facials, steam rooms, plus yoga and Pilates studios with daily classes. The resort stands exactly between Echo Beach and Batu Bolong, two surf spots within walking distance. On rates, base rooms generally run about USD 150–280 a night (roughly Rp2.4–4.6 million) and spike in July–August and late December. The easiest ways to pay less: target shoulder season (February–March, October–November), stay three nights or more, and lock a price in with a stay voucher instead of booking last minute.
