AMIKAN by SIKI opens every day from 10am to 7pm inside The Bay Bali complex in the ITDC area of Nusa Dua, right beside SIKI restaurant's Japanese garden. Bali food media announced it at the end of August 2026, and it is marketed as the island's first modern Japanese beachfront café. If you already know SIKI for dinner, think of AMIKAN as the casual daytime version: sandwiches, taro drinks and sun loungers facing the sea.
The name blends two words. Amik-amikan is Balinese for small handmade snacks, and mikan is the Japanese mandarin orange, a symbol of warmth.
What to order
According to the menu released to the press, the core is the sando, a Japanese sandwich built around a crumbed cutlet. Options are Beef Menchi Katsu Sando, Tori Katsu Sando (chicken), Seafood Katsu Sando and a Fruit Sando with fruit and cream. There are also age sandos, sweet fried bread filled with Chocolate Mousse, Brûlée & Chantilly, or Taro Chantilly.
- A fuller meal: the wachoushoku set with a choice of protein, rice, seasonal salad, miso soup and tsukemono pickles.
- Drinks: taro leads (Taro Latte, Coconut Taro Cloud, Taro Berry Spritz), followed by Matcha Latte, Coconut Matcha Cloud and Sea Salt Caramel Latte.
- Cocktails: AMIKAN Passion (vanilla vodka, passionfruit, citrus, soda) and Sunset Spritz (pineapple-infused arak, citrus, soda).
- Cakes: Miso Brûlée Tart and Chocolate Sacher Cake.
The good and the not so good
The most useful perk is the beachfront loungers, which the official announcement says you can use with no minimum spend. Most tidy loungers in Nusa Dua belong to hotels or paid beach clubs, so this is a cheap way to spend a few hours by the water.
The drawbacks are just as clear. The café closes at 7pm, so it is no dinner option. Nusa Dua's beach faces east, so the sun does not set over the sea in front of you, despite the cocktail called Sunset Spritz. Menu prices were not published as of September 2026, so check the board or Instagram before ordering for a group. If you want a full Japanese lunch with sushi, SIKI next door is the better choice.

AMIKAN pairs easily with a walk to Water Blow in the same area. For the wider picture, see our Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa guide. The most comfortable lounger hours are soon after the 10am opening, before the midday heat; late afternoon before closing suits a taro drink while the sea changes colour.
