Kuta Social Club is on the roof of the Mamaka by Ovolo hotel, Jl. Pantai Kuta No. 32, and opens daily from 7am to midnight. Poolside seats come with a minimum spend, so a few things are worth knowing before you ride the lift up.
8 things people usually miss
- It isn't on the sand. Despite the beach in its name, this is a hotel rooftop pool club. Kuta Beach is across the road, seen from above.
- Pool access comes with a seat. A third-party guide updated in September 2026 lists a minimum spend of IDR 250k per person for cabanas, curtained daybeds, sofa booths and sun loungers, and IDR 1 million per booking for the ocean-facing sofa. Dining tables have no minimum. Another source quotes a lower figure, so confirm when you book.
- Book via Chope or WhatsApp. Ovolo's official site links to Chope; for a specific seat, ask on WhatsApp. Poolside seats go first in the hour before sunset.
- Sunset is around 6:10pm in early October. Arrive at 4:30-5pm if you want to choose your spot.
- Drink prices. The official spirits list (October 2025 version) runs from IDR 115k a shot for Skyy or Bacardi to IDR 600k for Don Julio 1942. Ask whether tax and service are included.
- Theme nights. Fridays bring Saxo Sunsets, live saxophone at golden hour. Her Ritual offers free-flow drinks for women from 8pm to 10pm; the site doesn't name the day, so check Instagram. Breakfast & Bubbles is quoted at IDR 300k++ per person, and there's a Melbourne Cup event on 3 November 2026.
- Smart casual dress code. Swimwear is fine at the pool, but bring a top or sarong for dinner.
- Age and children. The site lists no age limit or kids policy. Carry a passport or ID, and read up on the drinking age rules in Bali.
The downsides
The crowd mixes hotel guests and walk-ins, so it feels more like a hotel lounge than a big beach club. Anyone after international guest DJs and crowds in the thousands will be happier at the beach clubs of Canggu or Uluwatu. It also closes at midnight; for a party into the small hours, Sky Garden on Jalan Legian stays open much later.
A Kuta-specific safety note
After drinks on the roof, don't go for a swim in the sea. Kuta's currents are strong, red flags go up often, and there are no lifeguards after dark. Crossing scooter-heavy Jl. Pantai Kuta at night also needs care. If you'd rather sleep close enough to walk back, check Kuta-area hotel vouchers on AccessiaPass.
