Dedari Waterfall, Bangli: Free, Three Tiers, Muddy Trail

Dedari Waterfall in Banjar Jelekungkang, Taman Bali village, charges no entry ticket. There is only a donation box for village upkeep; an English-language guide updated in July 2026 suggests Rp10,000-20,000. Visiting hours are 08:00-18:00 local time. Some visitors know it by another name, Bangkiang Djaran.

What You Get

Three linked waterfalls. The first drops straight for about 20 metres into a pool roughly 7 metres across, with clear, greenish water. The second continues its flow, and the third sits opposite, visible from a few metres away. It is less grand than Tibumana, but sees far fewer visitors.

Trail and Travel Time

From Bangli town it is about 15-20 minutes by road, from Ubud roughly 45-60 minutes. The usual route runs through Sidan (Gianyar) and Bunutin to the Taman Bali village field, then east to Jelekungkang following the signs. If you pass Bunutin, Pura Langgar makes a short stop. From the parking area you walk about 500 metres through rice fields, forest and a wood-and-bamboo bridge, with a few hundred steps.

Honest Verdict

The path is not fully paved and turns muddy after rain, the rocks around the pool are slippery, and mosquitoes are plentiful. There are no toilets, changing rooms or food stalls near the falls, so arrive already in swimwear. In the dry season the flow is weak. The best time is November to April on a dry day just after some rain. Watch small children, as the riverbank drops steeply.

Hours and Location

Pack insect repellent and shoes you do not mind ruining. Those two items decide whether the visit is pleasant.
