Perched on a hill in the Campuhan/Penestanan area of Ubud, The Blanco Renaissance Museum is the former home and studio of the Spanish-Filipino painter Don Antonio Blanco (1911–1999). Often called "the Salvador Dali of Bali", Blanco built this eccentric art palace as a fusion of European and Balinese styles. As you pass through the gilded gate and up the grand staircase, you step into the maestro's world of imagination.
Architecture & Art Collection
The museum building is itself a work of art: golden domes, carved pillars, and lavish baroque details. Inside are Blanco's paintings, sketches, and lithographs, famous for their themes of women, poetry, and romance. Many pieces are set in handmade frames as artistic as the works themselves.
Garden & Birds
Beyond the art, the grounds are home to exotic birds such as cockatoos and parrots roaming freely in the tropical garden. Views of the Campuhan valley and river from the terrace add to Ubud's serene atmosphere.
