Puri Dajuma sits on a small cape in Pekutatan, Jembrana, with 35 rooms spread over 1.5 hectares of garden and the Medewi surf visible from its pools. From Ngurah Rai Airport the drive takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic on the Denpasar-Gilimanuk road.
Room options
- Cottages: 7 Deluxe facing the garden and 11 VIP facing the pool and sea. 52 m² in total (25 m² bedroom, 15 m² bathroom with tub and outdoor shower, 12 m² terrace), up to 3 guests. Two cottages connect through a lockable door for families.
- Gold Suite, 52 m² for couples, with a whirlpool tub and sea-view balcony.
- Silver Suite, 90 m² for families: living room with kitchenette, master bedroom, twin-bed kids' room, up to 4 guests.
- Bendega Villas: four round villas beside a 50-metre infinity pool. Rent one bedroom (62 m², 3 guests), the duplex (114 m², 4 guests) or all three bedrooms (238 m², up to 10).
- Pondok Segara: a wooden villa right on the beach.
What you get outside the room
Two infinity pools on separate levels; the larger one has a suspended whirlpool, a small waterfall and a slide. Surfboards and bodyboards are free to borrow during your stay, and Medewi Beach and Pura Rambut Siwi are each under 15 minutes by car. Lola Spa has two indoor treatment rooms, two outdoor gazebos and a hammam, and yoga classes run daily. For meals there is RAMA restaurant and SINTA lounge with Japanese teppanyaki. The resort also arranges dive trips to Menjangan Island, about 1.5 hours' drive away.
The downsides
- Distance. If your plans are mostly in Ubud or Uluwatu, every trip there is about 3 hours each way.
- The road to Pekutatan is the main route to Gilimanuk port, busy with trucks and buses. TripAdvisor reviewers say the resort feels calm once you arrive, but the drive itself is not pleasant.
- The beach is black sand also used by fishing boats. According to the resort's website, sea swimming is safe on the western side of the cape; elsewhere you get the usual surf of Jembrana's south coast.
- Pekutatan is a small village. Do not expect a strip of cafes like Canggu, so most meals will likely be at the resort.
Staying: prices and booking
On booking aggregators, cottages start at roughly US$85 to 110 a night (checked October 2026, varies by season). The official website offers a 45% Early Bird discount for bookings 60 days ahead, one dinner for stays of 3 nights or more, and return airport transfers for 7 nights or more. It makes most sense for 2 or 3 nights on a west Bali route: a morning surf at Medewi Beach, an afternoon at Pura Rambut Siwi, then on to Gilimanuk or Pemuteran.
