A plate of nasi angin at Warung Nasi Angin Be Manis in Meliling costs about IDR 15,000 (under US$1): white rice, jerky-style sweet pork, shredded pork in red spice paste, fried noodles with cabbage, and a bowl of broth. The stall sits on the side of the Denpasar-Gilimanuk highway in Meliling village, Kerambitan district, Tabanan.
The name has nothing to do with the night wind. According to Bali Post (May 2025) and IDN Times Bali, the founder was a man named An Gin, who started selling in the 1960s to truck drivers on the Denpasar-Gilimanuk route. The business is now run by his son-in-law, I Nengah Rahmandi Putra.
Before you go
- Hours: Bali Post (May 2025) and a visitor post from October 2025 say it is open 24 hours. IDN Times Bali recorded 12:00-22:00 in 2022. There is no official confirmation for 2026, so if you come in the middle of the night, have a backup plan.
- Not halal. Every main topping is pork. No source mentions a vegetarian option.
- Price: about IDR 15,000 a plate according to the October 2025 post; it was IDR 12,000 in 2022. Bring small cash.
- How to order: say "nasi angin" and how many plates. If it is not enough, ask for extra rice or meat. Soy sauce and sambal are on the table.
- Eating tip: pour a little broth over the rice so it is not dry and drink the rest separately. Regulars often recommend this.
- Parking: room for motorbikes and a few cars, right on a national road used by trucks and buses. Take care turning in and out, especially at night.
- Don't pick the wrong stall: "nasi angin" is now sold in many places, including another family branch in Sempidi. This note is about the Be Manis stall in Meliling.
How busy does it get?
A visitor who wrote about it in October 2025 described it as busy even after midnight. The portion is right for one meal but not large; if you are very hungry, order extra rice or meat.
According to IDN Times Bali, the meat goes on the firewood stove at about 03:30, and in 2022 the stall used around 15 kg of pork a day.

It works best as a meal stop on the way to or from west Bali, or after visiting Puri Anyar Kerambitan. If your day takes you through north Tabanan around midday, Sambel Bejek Belayu closes at 13:00, so plan the route to have lunch there first.
