Diamond Beach Nusa Penida: White Sand, Carved Cliffs & Turquoise Water

On the southeastern tip of Nusa Penida, Diamond Beach is one of Bali’s most mesmerizing beaches. This small cove is ringed by giant white limestone cliffs, crowned by a rock pillar rising from the sand, and washed by crystal-clear turquoise water. The view from the clifftop alone is breathtaking even before you descend.

The Legendary Carved Stone Staircase

Access to the sand is via a staircase carved straight into the cliff face by locals. The descent is steep but now has rope handrails and tidier steps than before. Allow about 10–15 minutes to climb down, plus extra energy for the climb back. Wear grippy footwear and avoid descending in the rain, as the stone gets slippery.
