Entry to Goa Giri Campuhan Waterfall (often shortened to GGC) in Tembuku village, Bangli, is Rp25,000 per person, the same for adults and children, with opening hours of 08:00-18:00 WITA according to a visitor guide updated in 2026. IDN Times Bali (February 2025) lists the same price. Parking is free, but everything is cash only (checked September 2026).
What you actually do there
From the car park on Jalan Uluwatu, Tembuku, it is about a 20-minute walk each way. Most of it is flat, along rice fields with Mount Agung behind them, then down steps and dirt paths towards the river. What sets the place apart is the tunnel. Sources disagree on how many there are: IDN Times and a 2022 blog describe one passage of about 50 metres dating from the Dutch era, while the 2026 guide describes two man-made passages of 20-30 metres each. They agree on one thing: inside it is completely dark, the wall lights do not work, and you need your phone torch.
After the tunnel an iron ladder beside a sluice gate takes you down to a concrete weir. The main waterfall is about 25 metres high. "Campuhan" means the meeting of two rivers, and Balinese Hindus use the spot for melukat purification, so be respectful if someone is praying.
Swimming, and where
You can swim. In the dry season the pool below the main fall shrinks, and the stretch of river past the second tunnel is actually nicer for a swim. The rainy season brings stronger flow and more dramatic photos, but the dirt path turns to mud.
Verdict
GGC is worth it if you have already seen Tukad Cepung and want a far quieter Bangli waterfall. It is a light adventure, not a hard trek. The downsides are real:
- No toilets or changing rooms at the waterfall. Bring a sarong to change behind.
- Signs are small and the path forks, so it is easy to take a wrong turn.
- Not a good fit for anyone uneasy in dark, narrow spaces, small children who need carrying, or bad knees, given the slippery iron ladder.
If you want a tidy pool with changing rooms, Goa Raja in Jehem village suits you better.

The most comfortable times are before 10:00 or after 16:00, when it is cooler and quieter. Save some phone battery for the torch on the way back through the tunnel.
