Warung Kuah Pindang, Mas Ubud: IDR 11k Rujak in a Paddy Hut

Rujak kuah pindang at Warung Kuah Pindang in Mas village costs IDR 11,000 and tipat cantok just IDR 9,000, according to detikBali's coverage (January 2025). You eat in small huts out in the rice fields, about 15 minutes' drive south of central Ubud. For the Ubud area, that is cheap.

What to order

• Rujak kuah pindang (IDR 11,000). Unripe fruit in a cold broth made from pindang fish stock, chilli and salt. Generous portion, spice level on request. The fish aroma is strong, so it is not for every palate.
• Tipat cantok (IDR 9,000). Rice cakes and boiled vegetables with freshly pounded peanut sauce. The safe pick for anyone avoiding chilli.
• Tipat kare or tipat pindang (IDR 15,000 each). The curry version comes with chicken, chicken feet and rice vermicelli.
• Fried duck (IDR 45,000). The priciest dish, served with vegetable sides.

What it costs

Two people sharing one rujak, two tipat dishes and one fried duck: IDR 86,000 before drinks. No source lists drink prices. The honest caveat: these figures date from January 2025, and we have not found a newer official menu or an account posting 2026 prices. Expect a few thousand rupiah more per dish today. According to detikBali, the whole menu is halal. Google Maps shows a range of IDR 25,000-50,000 per person, and reviews kept coming in through mid-2026, so the warung is still operating. One 2026 review complained of a mixed-up order and grilled prawn sambal with the prawns still raw, so check your order before eating.

When to go

Opening hours differ by source: detikBali (2025) says 10am-10pm daily except Nyepi, while Google Maps in October 2026 lists 7am-11pm daily. There is a fish pond, and fish food is sold at the cashier, a small distraction for kids. The rice-field view only matters in daylight, so aim for about 3-5pm, when the heat eases. Rujak also works better as an afternoon snack than as dinner. There is Wi-Fi and roomy parking, and the huts fit family groups.
