Umi Resort in Uluwatu has been taking guests since mid-2026, but Tripadvisor reviews from July to October 2026 keep mentioning unfinished sections and construction noise. If the all-inclusive package appeals to you, ask which areas are complete before you pay.
What is Umi?
Umi is an Australian-owned resort in a valley near Uluwatu and Suluban beaches. Its official site (checked 21 October 2026) lists the address as Jl. Pantai Padang-Padang No.10A and puts both beaches about 200 metres away. Travel Weekly Australia (July 2025) reported plans for 92 rooms and seven private villas, with 30 m² Deluxe Suites, Superior Suites, and 70 m² Family Suites, all facing the pool. Promised facilities include tiered infinity pools, hot and ice plunge pools, a kids club, a spa, and a 24-hour restaurant and bar.
It is sold differently from a normal hotel
Umi does not publish nightly room rates. Its official package page offers a Luxury Escape Package for two, 3 to 9 nights, from AUD1,999, including meals, drinks, four one-hour massages, airport transfers, and free stays for children under 15. You can buy now and choose dates later, with three years of validity.
Some things on that page deserve a calm read. There is a "limited time" countdown and a claimed 50% discount on a value of AUD4,098. The official FAQ mentions a non-refundable US$199 third-party booking and processing fee if you cancel, although other payments are described as fully refundable. When checked, Superior and Family Suites were marked sold out, leaving only Deluxe Suites.
What guests who stayed say
There are still few reviews and the average Tripadvisor score was low, under 3 out of 5, when checked. The pattern is fairly consistent:
- Praised: friendly staff, comfortable rooms, restaurant food, the pools, and the location near the beach.
- Criticised: ongoing construction, drilling and hammering from the morning, only part of the floors open, the spa unfinished in July, and cleanliness judged below five-star level.
- Refunds: one July 2026 review said a refund promised within 14 days had not arrived after 28 days.
The opening date itself has shifted: the FAQ says soft opening in April 2026, the About page says May 2026, the package page says welcoming guests from June 2026, and the official Instagram announced 22 June 2026.
Who it suits
Umi makes sense for families who want food and drinks included and do not mind a resort that is still being finished. It is a poor fit for honeymooners or anyone who wants quiet afternoon naps, at least until newer reviews say construction is done. The road out front is also busy with traffic heading to Padang Padang and Uluwatu. If certainty matters more, compare fully operating Uluwatu resorts in our Uluwatu guide; some can be booked with an AccessiaPass hotel voucher.

Packages for two start at AUD1,999 for a minimum of 3 nights, with meals and drinks included (checked 21 October 2026). Nightly room rates are not listed.
