Ubud Village Jazz Festival — Tickets, Atmosphere & Where to Stay

The Ubud Village Jazz Festival (UVJF) is an annual jazz festival now entering its second decade and one of the most anticipated music dates in Bali. In recent years it has been staged on the grounds of Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel Ubud, on Jalan A.A. Gede Rai, Mawang Kelod, Lodtunduh, Gianyar — about 15–20 minutes south of central Ubud and roughly 1.5 hours from Ngurah Rai Airport. The 2026 edition ran on 7–8 August, and organisers have already announced the next edition for 6–7 August 2027; the pattern is that it is usually held in August.

What the Atmosphere Is Like

• Three stages, around 15 performances and roughly 100 musicians across two nights.
• Indonesian musicians share the bill with international names. The programme leans on improvisation and cross-border musical conversation rather than straight pop concerts — the festival is also backed by several foreign embassies.
• Gates open in the late afternoon, around 16:30, and music runs past 23:00 on outdoor stages ringed by rice fields and the trees of Lodtunduh.
• There are food and drink stalls on site. Sitting on the grass is normal, so do not expect seating for every guest.

Tickets and What to Prepare

• Tickets are sold online through the official platform Megatix, as day passes and 2-day passes. At the most recent edition prices ran to roughly IDR 850,000 for one day and about IDR 1.25 million for two; online vouchers are exchanged for tickets at the venue booth.
• Bring a light jacket or a packable rain shell. Ubud nights feel cool, and a short shower is still possible even though August falls in the dry season.
• Wear closed shoes and bring insect repellent — the grass at the venue is often damp.
• On-site parking exists but fills quickly. Grab, Gojek and local taxis are easy to find from central Ubud, but queues get long at midnight, so arrange your ride home early.
