Bali Mandara Toll Road 2026: Fares, Motorbikes, How to Pay

The Bali Mandara toll costs Rp14,000 for a car (class I) and Rp5,500 for a motorbike (class VI) per trip, paid only with a bank e-money card. These fares have applied since 27 April 2024 and were still listed on PT Jasamarga Bali Tol's official website when checked in October 2026.

What are the fares by class?

• Class I (sedan, jeep, pickup/small truck, bus): Rp14,000
• Classes II and III (2- and 3-axle trucks): Rp21,000
• Classes IV and V (4-axle and 5+ axle trucks): Rp28,000
• Class VI (motorbike): Rp5,500

The legal basis is Public Works Ministerial Decree No. 769/KPTS/M/2024. The fare is flat: you pay once at the entry gate, wherever you exit. Many articles still quote Rp13,000 and Rp5,000, which were the fares before April 2024. Toll fares are reviewed every two years based on inflation, so the next adjustment could be announced at any time. Check the official website or Instagram before you go.

Can you pay cash, QRIS, or tap a bank card?

No cash and no QRIS. The booths only accept bank e-money cards: Mandiri e-Money (e-Toll), BCA Flazz, BRI Brizzi and BNI TapCash. Regular debit or credit cards, including contactless Visa and Mastercard from abroad, won't work at the booth.

A free-flow payment system (MLFF) was trialled on this road from December 2023. According to Kompas, as of April 2026 the government was still preparing a re-test, so it is not available to the public.

Cards are sold at Indomaret, Alfamart or the issuing bank's branches. Top up at minimarts or through a bank app on an NFC phone. If your balance is short, the barrier stays down and you need staff help while the queue waits behind you. Rp50,000 of credit covers several trips.

Can motorbikes really use the toll road?

Yes. Bali Mandara is the only toll road in Indonesia with a dedicated motorbike lane, separated from car traffic by a barrier. Speed on the bike lane is a minimum 25 km/h and maximum 40 km/h (detikOto). The bike lane closes temporarily when wind reaches 40 km/h, and the whole toll road closes at 80 km/h. Rental shops rarely include an e-money card, so bring your own. Crosswinds off the sea are strong on the bike lane. A small automatic scooter carrying a passenger and bags can wobble, so keep both hands on the bars and avoid the toll in heavy rain.

Where does it go?

It runs 12.7 km including access roads across Benoa Bay, with three gates: Nusa Dua, Ngurah Rai (by the airport) and Benoa (towards Denpasar, Sanur and Benoa Harbour). Visitors mostly use it from the airport to Nusa Dua or Tanjung Benoa, and from Sanur or Denpasar to the airport, skipping the congested junctions on the Ngurah Rai Bypass. Is it open 24 hours?

Yes, except during Nyepi. For Nyepi 2026 the toll closed for 32 hours, from Wednesday 18 March at 11pm to Friday 20 March at 7am WITA, open only to emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire engines. Temporary closures can also happen in extreme weather.

In a Grab or taxi, who pays the toll?

The passenger. The driver taps their own card at the booth, then the toll is added to the bill in the app or you pay the driver at the end of the trip. For a normal car it is Rp14,000 per entry. Can you stop for photos?

No. As on any toll road, the shoulder is for emergencies only, including on the narrow bike lane, which fits just two bikes side by side. Let a passenger shoot from the moving vehicle. The view is worth it: the water of Benoa Bay, the Ngurah Rai mangrove forest on both sides, and planes descending low near the airport.

Check your card balance the night before an airport run. Topping up at a minimart is far calmer than discovering the problem with the barrier right in front of you.
