Honey & Smoke is chef Will Meyrick's fire-grill bistro at Jl. Monkey Forest 67B, with an upstairs "Supper Club" bar that turns into a speakeasy after dark. Every answer below comes from the official website, checked in October 2026.
What time does Honey & Smoke open?
Every day. The kitchen (the Bistro Grill downstairs) runs 12pm-10pm, with last food orders at 10pm. The bar opens at 12pm and stays open late; the site only says "late", with no fixed closing time. General closing rules are in our piece on what time bars and clubs close in Bali.
How much are the cocktails?
According to the official drinks menu, signatures cost IDR 140,000-170,000: Honey Ocha IDR 140,000, Norihana Smoke (kaffir lime rum, wasabi, nori) IDR 150,000, Mexcalli IDR 160,000, Honey Brown Butter IDR 170,000. Classics run IDR 140,000-180,000, for example Espresso Martini IDR 155,000 and Aged Old Fashioned IDR 180,000. Prices are marked ++, so tax and service are added to the bill. Until 25 October 2026 there is a G&T Week: three limited gin and tonics at IDR 120,000++.
Is there live music?
Not a band. There is a DJ playing jazz-led sets in the upstairs Supper Club every Thursday and Saturday from 7pm. On those nights the Classic, Tommy's and Chilli Lime Margaritas are IDR 120,000++ each. If you want a live band, look elsewhere.
Do I need to book?
For Thursday and Saturday, yes; the site itself says upstairs seats fill quickly on jazz nights. Book via SevenRooms on the website or the WhatsApp number on the booking page. Tables are held for 15 minutes. Walk-ins are welcome if a table frees up. One honest caveat: an online booking does not guarantee the upstairs room, and you may be seated downstairs on high chairs.
Is there a dress code? Can I smoke?
Smart casual is encouraged, but relaxed island wear is accepted. The whole venue is non-smoking: cigarettes, cigars and vapes are not allowed. Children are welcome and there is a kids' menu, but no baby seats are provided.
What if I want to eat too?
An Early Bird menu runs daily from 5.30pm to 7pm at IDR 400,000, and a "Feed Me" menu costs IDR 615,000, both for a minimum of two guests; the site does not say whether these are per person, so ask when booking. The same chef is behind Sarong in Petitenget. For a comparable stop on the same road, see Donna at Monkey Forest No.67. Monkey Forest Road is congested and parking is hard at night; if you are staying in central Ubud, walking is quicker.
