Broken Beach (Pasih Uug) and Angel's Billabong are two natural wonders sitting next to each other on the west side of Nusa Penida. They share the same area, so you can visit both in a single trip. The dramatic limestone cliffs and turquoise seawater make this one of the most iconic photo spots in Bali.
Broken Beach (Pasih Uug)
Broken Beach is a circular rock arch forming a small bay like an enclosed lagoon. Seawater flows in through a natural tunnel beneath the stone bridge, creating a blue pool surrounded by cliffs. You can walk along the cliff edge to enjoy the panorama from different angles, but swimming inside this cove is not advised because the cliffs are steep.
Angel's Billabong
Just steps from Broken Beach, Angel's Billabong is a natural tide pool resembling a green-turquoise infinity pool. At low tide the pool looks clear and calm.
- Come at low tide for the best views
- Do not swim during big swells — currents and waves can be dangerous
- Wear non-slip footwear on the rocks
Access & Preparation
This spot is in west Nusa Penida, reached via roads that are still partly rough and rocky. There is a parking area near the entrance, then a short walk down a path. The most common way is to rent a scooter or join a day tour from the harbor.
- Rent a scooter (around Rp70–100k/day) or join a local driver tour
- Bring water, a hat, and sunscreen as there is little shade
- Entry fees: since 1 September 2026 the site fee for Broken Beach and Angel's Billabong (each) is Rp25,000 per adult and Rp15,000 per child (foreigners and Indonesians), on top of the Nusa Penida area fee of Rp25,000/Rp15,000 that foreigners pay once per visit (Klungkung bylaw 4/2026; Kompas, 12 August 2026). Payment is cashless; some reports say per-site collection has slipped, so check on arrival (checked 21 October 2026). Parking is separate.
