On the Kampial ridge, right on the Nusa Dua–Uluwatu road, sits a courtyard with few equals anywhere: five houses of worship from five religions standing side by side, with no wall between them. Puja Mandala was built on roughly 2.5 hectares of ITDC land, begun in 1994 and inaugurated on 22 December 1997. Entry is free, and 30–45 minutes is enough to take in the atmosphere.
Five Houses of Worship, One Courtyard
- Masjid Agung Ibnu Batutah — domed, with a minaret facing the main courtyard.
- Gereja Katolik Maria Bunda Segala Bangsa — the Catholic parish church, with a bright facade.
- Gereja Kristen Protestan di Bali (GKPB) Bukit Doa — Balinese ornament on its gate and roof.
- Vihara Buddha Guna — golden-toned, first used at the end of 1997.
- Pura Jagatnatha — the last to be inaugurated, around 2004.
Best Hours, Etiquette and Dress
- Sightseeing is usually comfortable between about 08.00 and 16.00 WITA; mornings are coolest and quietest.
- Avoid the main service times: Friday midday prayers, and Sunday morning Mass and services.
- No entry ticket; donation boxes stand at a few points and giving is entirely voluntary.
- Cover shoulders and knees, and remove your shoes at the mosque, the vihara and the temple's sacred areas; to enter the temple you are usually asked to wear a sarong and sash.
- Ask permission before photographing inside a prayer hall or towards anyone at worship.
Routes, Parking and a Half-Day Plan

- On to Uluwatu is usually 35–45 minutes; GWK and Jimbaran lie the same way and are closer.
