New Kuta Golf Pecatu: Clifftop Golf in Uluwatu Above the Indian Ocean

On the cliffs of the Bukit Peninsula, New Kuta Golf offers something rare in Indonesia: an 18-hole links-style course looking straight out over the Indian Ocean, right above Dreamland and Balangan beaches. The par-72 layout covers roughly 85 hectares and was designed by Ronald Fream, David Dale and Kevin Ramsey.

Why This Course Feels Different

With few shade trees, the real challenge is the sea breeze and the stepped terrain. Several par 3s make you carry a limestone ravine with the ocean behind. Five tee sets, from about 4,900 m to more than 6,700 m, keep the round enjoyable for beginners.

Green Fees, Club Rental and Caddies

• Green fee: roughly Rp1.7–2.6 million per player depending on season, day and tee-off time; usually including buggy, caddie and tax. Rates shift seasonally, so confirm when booking.
• Club rental: around Rp600k per round; men’s, ladies’ and left-handed sets available, and golf shoes usually too.
• Caddie: included in the green fee, but the tip is separate and very customary in Bali.
• Practice: a covered driving range of about 250 m, a short-game area and a large putting green; arrive 45–60 minutes early to warm up.

Dress Code and the Best Time to Tee Off

A collared shirt, trousers or tailored shorts and golf shoes without metal spikes are required; sports shoes are generally accepted, while T-shirts and jeans are not. The 6–8am slots are the most comfortable, with calm wind and cooler air; afternoon rounds bring golden light but a stronger sea breeze. Bring sunscreen, a hat and water.
