7 Things to Know Before You Go to The Iron Fairies Bali

Arrive before 10pm and you walk into The Iron Fairies Bali for free; after that, entry is ticketed and anyone under 21 is not allowed inside. Those two rules, from the official website (checked September 2026), are what most often leave groups stuck on Jl. Petitenget. The venue is still active: its events calendar lists guest DJ nights through August 2026.

1. It is a big club, not a tiny speakeasy

Many people picture a quiet hidden bar. In reality, the iron, timber and mining-machinery interior by designer Ashley Sutton (who created the original Iron Fairies in Bangkok) holds around 500 people over three levels with eight small rooms. After 11pm the volume is nightclub level. If you want to talk, come between 7pm and 9pm.

2. Free entry only until 10pm

Doors open at 7pm. Entry is free before 10pm; after that you pay via the ticket link on the events page. The official site also says women enter free Sunday to Thursday.

3. 21+ applies from 10pm, even with parents

The site is clear that under-21s may not be inside after 10pm, even with a parent. Bring your original passport or ID, not a photo on your phone.

4. The dress code is stricter than a beach club

Smart casual, closed shoes preferred. Beachwear, flip-flops and sleeveless singlets for men are refused. Coming straight from an afternoon beach club? Pack a change of clothes.

5. Live band first, DJ later

The live band plays roughly 8:15pm-11pm, with DJs from 11pm (earlier, from 9pm, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday). Tuesday is Dust Tuesdays (funk, disco, hip hop, ladies free), Wednesday is Tinka Wednesdays. Guest line-ups change, so check theironfairies.co.id/events first.

6. Tables are cheapest early

According to the site, reservations between 7pm and 10pm carry no minimum charge. Tables after 10pm may come with different terms, so ask when you book. Cocktail prices are not published online, and TripAdvisor reviewers repeatedly call them expensive by Bali standards. Budget as you would for any Seminyak club.

7. Petitenget at night: valet or ride-hailing

Valet parking is IDR 50,000. The pavements on Jl. Petitenget are narrow and broken, so after drinking do not walk far along the dark roadside or drive yourself; set your ride-hailing pickup right at the door. Keep an eye on your glass when the dance floor fills up.
