Ngiring Ngewedang Munduk: Bali Coffee on a Buleleng Valley Rim

At roughly 800 metres above sea level, right on the winding road through Munduk village, Ngiring Ngewedang has long been the compulsory stop for travellers heading to Lake Tamblingan and Melanting Waterfall. Its open terrace looks out over a green valley, sweeps of coffee gardens and clove trees, and even the north Bali coastline on clear days. The name itself is roughly a Balinese invitation to “come and drink”, and coffee is indeed why most people pull over.

Ngiring Ngewedang has run as a traditional coffee processing centre since 1998 and still roasts Banyuatis beans at its coffee corner. You can compare, side by side, the two characters grown on the surrounding slopes.
