Laughing Buddha Bar opens daily from 4pm until around midnight, and a live band plays almost every night from about 7:30-8pm (checked October 2026 against several Ubud guides). The bar is on Jl. Monkey Forest, opposite Café Wayan.
What time does the band start?
Sources vary: some say 7:30-10:30pm, others 8-11pm, and Bali Holiday Secrets (December 2025) says the music runs until about 11:30pm. A safe rule of thumb is roughly 8pm to 11pm.
Is there a weekly special night?
Yes. Every Friday is Latinesia, a salsa, bachata, merengue and cha-cha-cha night with Dimas Latinesia and his band, 8-11pm according to the SalsaVida listing. Other nights rotate genres (blues, rock, acoustic), so check Instagram before you go.
How much are the drinks?
Honeycombers lists cocktails from about IDR 95k. Older guides mention a buy-2-get-1 cocktail deal from 4pm to 7pm; deals like this change often, so ask at the bar. Food runs to tapas, noodle soups, burgers and local dishes.
Do I need to book? Is there a dress code?
There is no official online booking system we could confirm. Arrive before 8pm if you want your own table, because once the band is on, tables fill fast and many people stand. Dress is casual. Alcohol is for 21+ only, so bring ID.
Who will not enjoy it?
If you want a quiet conversation, look elsewhere: the band is loud and the room opens onto the street. Serious cocktail hunters will be happier at Night Rooster. One more warning: the old domain laughingbuddhabar.com now hosts online gambling spam, so do not trust any info or numbers from that site.
