In the far northeast of Buleleng, tucked away in Les Village, Tejakula District, lies Yeh Mampeh Waterfall, better known as Les Waterfall. The name "Yeh Mampeh" means "flying water," describing water that seems to float as it drops from a cliff more than 30 meters high. This makes it one of Bali's tallest waterfalls — some locals even claim it is the tallest.
The Trek to the Waterfall
From the parking area, you only need to walk about 15–20 minutes along a shady, relatively easy jungle trail. The roar of the water will guide your steps. Because it sits far from the main tourist hubs, this place remains quiet and natural, perfect for those seeking calm away from the crowds.
Cool Pool & Natural Atmosphere
Beneath the falls lies a natural pool with cool, fresh water — perfect for a dip after the walk. The green cliffs and surrounding tropical forest give the whole place a magical feel.
- Bring anti-slip footwear — the rocks around the falls are slippery.
- Pack a change of clothes and a towel if you plan to swim.
- Take care during the rainy season; the flow can be strong and paths slippery.
- Bring water and snacks, as nearby stalls are limited.
- Come in the morning for the best light and the quietest atmosphere.
Since it is still pristine, please keep it clean and take your trash with you. Extend your North Bali adventure and check hotel vouchers on AccessiaPass for a comfortable stay around Buleleng.
