Yeh Buah Waterfall is free to visit every day from 8am to 7pm WITA, according to Radar Update (October 2024). It sits in Yeh Embang Kauh village, Mendoyo district, Jembrana, not far from Medewi Beach.
What is the waterfall like?
It is about 10 metres high. What sets it apart is the wall of sedimentary rock behind the falling water, layered vertically and clearly visible from below. The falls lie inside a villager's fruit garden, with bale-bale pavilions to sit in nearby.
How much is the ticket?
There was no entry fee in 2024-2025 reports. Bring small notes for parking or a cleaning donation if asked, and for coffee at the villagers' stall nearby. Checked October 2026; if a new fee appears, follow the sign on site.
Can you swim?
You can take a dip. The flow is gentle, so you can walk up to the pool below. There is no lifeguard, so stay in the shallow part and don't climb the rock wall.
When is the water clear?
When it hasn't rained, the water is clear and cold. After rain the falls carry soil and turn yellowish brown, according to visitbali.id. The dry season (roughly April-October) and mornings are the safest bet.
Is there food?
Only a small villagers' stall for coffee and snacks. For lunch, head back to the Denpasar-Gilimanuk highway or to the Medewi area, which has warungs and surfer cafés. Bring your own drinking water, especially at midday.
Is it worth the trip from Denpasar?
Not for Yeh Buah alone. The drive from Denpasar to Jembrana is about 2.5 hours, while the waterfall is small and takes 30-60 minutes to enjoy. It makes more sense as a break while staying or surfing at Medewi, or combined with Bunut Bolong on a West Bali day.
