Entry to Taman Mumbul in Sangeh is free according to a May 2026 update on travelspromo. You only pay parking, about Rp5k for a scooter and Rp10k for a car. Some older reviews still mention a Rp10k ticket per person, so carry a little cash just in case. It is about 750 metres from Sangeh Monkey Forest, roughly a 3-minute drive.
What is there
The centre is a spring that feeds a clear pond with thousands of black, yellow and orange fish. A shrine stands in the middle of the pond and looks as if it floats. Fish food costs about Rp2,500 a bag, and catching fish or littering is not allowed. On the other side is Pancoran Solas, a purification (melukat) area with 11 spouts: nine for the Nawa Sanga deities and two for the goddess Gangga. It opened in 2014. Pura Taman Mumbul itself is used by Sangeh villagers for ceremonies.
If you want to do melukat
A sarong (kamen) is required. Sarong rental is about Rp5k and a locker about Rp10k. First-timers are advised to bring one pejati offering and 15-20 canang, and the temple priest can guide you through the order of the spouts. Dress rules and etiquette are similar to the other sites in our guide to melukat in Bali.
When it gets busy, and the downsides
Visitor numbers jump on major Hindu holy days, when many locals come to purify. For a calm pond, come on a weekday morning. The downside is size. Walking around, feeding the fish and taking photos takes 30-60 minutes, so it is not worth a trip from Canggu for Mumbul alone. Opening hours also differ between sources.

The most efficient order: Sangeh Monkey Forest first while it is still morning, then Mumbul. It is about 45 minutes from Ubud and about an hour from Denpasar.
