Hidden behind a wall of limestone cliffs tens of meters high in Kutuh Village at Bali's southern tip, Pandawa Beach was once known to locals as Secret Beach because it was so hard to reach. Today a paved road slices through the cliff, and on both sides are carved five niches holding the Pandawa heroes: Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva, plus Queen Kunti. This dramatic corridor is the iconic gateway before a sweep of white sand and calm blue sea opens before you.
White Sand, Calm Water, and Seaweed Tradition
Unlike the surf beaches of Uluwatu, Pandawa's waves are relatively gentle thanks to the sheltered bay, perfect for easy swimming and children. The sand is clean and white, lined with rental umbrellas and chairs. On the eastern side you can still see plots of seaweed cultivation tended by Kutuh villagers for generations, a trace of the original livelihood before tourism arrived.
Kayaks, Cliffs, and Photo Spots
The favorite activity here is renting a kayak to paddle the clear shallows, around Rp50,000 per half hour. Thrill seekers can try paragliding launching from nearby Timbis Hill. In the late afternoon, climb to the viewing terrace atop the cliff to photograph the whole bay from above.
- Entry ticket: since 1 January 2026, foreign visitors pay Rp25,000 per adult and Rp15,000 per child, Indonesians Rp15,000 and Rp10,000 (bisnisnusa, 16 January 2026). Bali Post (29 January 2026) lists foreign adults at Rp15,000, so expect Rp15,000-Rp25,000. Vehicle parking is separate (checked 21 October 2026).
