A plate of nasi lawar at Warung Men Rangeng in Banjar Dlod Pangkung, Sukawati, costs Rp10,000-30,000 (roughly US$0.60-1.80) according to IDN Times in August 2026, and the warung opens at 11:00. People come here for one thing: pork lawar plek rice with Balinese spiced broth.
What to order
The warung's own menu lists nasi lawar, lawar getih, chicken sate lilit and kuah komoh, with iced tea or iced palm sugar to drink. Lawar getih is mixed with pig's blood, which turns it dark red and gives it a sharper taste. The spiced komoh broth arrives in a separate bowl, good for pouring over the rice or sipping between mouthfuls of lawar.
How much you will spend
For one person with a drink, Rp20,000-40,000 is a fair estimate at 2026 prices. There are also several set packages; a 2024 write-up on balikonten listed packages at Rp25,000-52,000, so ask what each one includes before ordering.
When to go
IDN Times (2026) and balikonten (2024) both give hours of 11:00-18:00, while one online directory says it stays open until 22:00. The safe bet is lunch, between 11:30 and 14:00, because that window falls inside the opening hours in every source.
Who it does not suit
Every main dish is pork-based and some use blood, so skip it if you avoid pork or have a stomach that reacts to lawar. Seating is on the floor (lesehan) and outdoors, which is uncomfortable if you struggle to sit low. It also will not work for breakfast, since it only opens at midday.
