Cavo Uluwatu: Handmade Pasta and Focaccia on Labuan Sait

Cavo, a Roman-style Italian bar and bistro on Jl. Labuansait in Pecatu, opened on 2 May 2026 and, according to its website, serves from 12pm to 11pm. Lunch is focaccia and panuozzo sandwiches; dinner is pasta, Roman pizza and grilled mains. Prices below come from the official menu, checked September 2026, and exclude 10% tax plus 6% service.

What to order

• Lunch: pick house focaccia or panuozzo (folded pizza dough), then a filling. Mortazza (mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio) IDR 130k, Calabrian (chicken schnitzel, prosciutto, burrata, vodka sauce) IDR 115k, Toscana (roast pumpkin, ricotta, pesto) IDR 115k.
• Pasta: Paccheri alla Vodka IDR 170k, Nduja Rigatoni and Lamb Ragu Pappardelle IDR 175k each. Gluten-free pasta is available at extra cost.
• Roman pizza, thin and crisp: from Margherita at IDR 150k to Gamberi e Limone at IDR 220k.
• Starters: Arancini al Tartufo IDR 100k, Olive Ascolane IDR 95k.
• Drinks: Aperol Spritz IDR 165k, Negroni IDR 160k, Island Brewing beer from IDR 65k, wine by the glass IDR 140-160k.

When to go

The best-value slot is Aperitivo Romana, daily 4-6pm: beer IDR 65k, wine or spritz IDR 100k. The programme posters on the official site (August 2026) also list Pasta e Vino on Wednesdays (IDR 230k set), Pizza e Spritz on Thursdays (IDR 240k) with acoustic music from 7:30pm, and Vinyl & Vino on Fridays 7-11pm. These nights have changed days before, so check Instagram first.

Who it may not suit

Budget roughly IDR 900k for two (two pastas, one starter, two spritzes) after tax and service. That is well above the warungs and surfer cafés on the same road, such as Bukit Cafe. Much of the menu uses pork (porchetta, nduja, salami, mortadella, bacon), so choices are narrower if you avoid it, although chicken, prawn and mushroom dishes exist. Jl. Labuansait also clogs up before sunset. Having opened in May 2026, Cavo still has few reviews, so expect a kitchen that is still settling in.
