Babi Guling Melinggih Denpasar: Prices, Hours and Local Black Pig

A regular plate of babi guling at Babi Guling Melinggih costs Rp25,000, the special portion Rp40,000 and a kids' portion Rp15,000. The warung is at Jl. Letda Tantular No. 17, Dangin Puri Kelod, East Denpasar, open daily 9am-5pm (checked October 2026 against IDN Times, July 2025, and INSTIKI, March 2026). detikFood put it on a list of five legendary Bali babi guling spots in June 2026.

What to order

What sets it apart: the special portion uses local Balinese black pig, which has thinner fat and more savoury meat than the usual white pig. You choose between sere lemo, a fresh seasoning with lemongrass and lime, or the spicier basa genep. The list of extras is long: babi guling trotters, oret, pork satay, urutan (pork sausage, with a smoked version regulars often mention), fried pork, lawar kacang and lawar plek.

The owner, Ida Bagus Toni Astawa, handed out hundreds of free babi guling rice packs on Jl. Tantular for Denpasar's city anniversary in 2022, according to the Denpasar city government website.

Good to know

• Prices differ between sources. The Rp25k/40k/15k breakdown comes from detikBali (May 2024). Sources from 2025-2026 only say "from Rp25,000", and some aggregator sites list other figures. Budget about Rp50,000 per person if you add sides.
• Not halal. Everything here is pork. Muslim friends are better off at a fish or beef warung.
• Sell-out time. Official closing is 5pm, but no source records when the sides start running out. Arrive before 1pm for the full choice.
• Parking. There is no official information on parking space; at lunchtime a scooter or ride-hailing bike is easier than a car.
