Which to choose, and for whom

Balinese massage, 60 minutes suits first-timers who want to unwind without hard pressure. Go between 09.00 and 11.00: ASAI's booking page offers a free one-hour sauna with any 60-minute massage in that window, which adds value at no extra cost.

Deep tissue, 90 minutes is for anyone coming off a surf session on the Bukit or stiff after a long flight. It is only Rp140k more than the 60-minute version, and the extra half hour shows in the back and shoulders.

Sauna and ice bath is for recovery rather than massage. The sauna and chill zone hold a maximum of seven guests and the rules require advance booking, so do not just turn up in the afternoon. Saunas are generally not recommended during pregnancy; if you are pregnant, stick to the pregnancy massage.

Packages only make sense if you want everything in them. Escape (60-minute Balinese massage, 30-minute foot massage, 60-minute traditional facial massage) costs Rp975k, against Rp1.305 million if booked separately. Harmony (60-minute Balinese massage plus a 30-minute facial massage) is Rp635k, saving Rp135k.

Who it is not for

If all you want is a cheap hour-long massage, ASAI is not the one. On Fresha, plenty of small spas in south Bali list massages from around Rp150k. Here you pay for the sauna, the ice bath and a more polished space. For a quick foot rub after sightseeing, other places in Jimbaran are clearly cheaper.
