The gap is small, so location and facilities should decide it, not price.

According to Expedia it has four outdoor pools and a free shuttle to a beach with cabanas and loungers, and Marriott's page mentions access to Roosterfish Beach Club. Some suites have kitchens, which helps families on longer stays.

Radisson wins on one thing Renaissance cannot buy: you can walk to Bingin and Padang Padang, the two beaches that bring many people to Uluwatu in the first place. From Renaissance, the nearest busy beaches need the shuttle or a car.

Radisson's downsides that guests mention

• The path down to the beach is steep, has many steps and is dark at night. Not suitable for older guests, wheelchair users or anyone pushing a stroller.
• There is only one main pool, which can feel crowded in peak season compared with Renaissance's four.
• Kayak's review summary notes slow service, construction noise from nearby sites, and a room-charge deposit that surprised some guests. Ask about the deposit amount at check-in.
• The airport is about 40 minutes away, longer during evening traffic on Jl. Uluwatu.

The verdict

Choose Radisson Blu if you are coming to surf, or want mornings at Bingin and afternoons at Padang Padang without renting a scooter. The 148 m² Ocean View Suite is also a strong option for couples who want a private rooftop terrace without paying villa prices.

Choose Renaissance if you are travelling with small children, want several pools, or someone in your group struggles with stairs. Its base rate was also slightly lower for the dates we checked.
