Paradisus by Meliá Bali vs Ayodya: Which Nusa Dua Resort?

Paradisus by Meliá Bali opened in early February 2026 in Nusa Dua as the first Paradisus resort in Asia, with 492 suites, seven garden villas and an all-inclusive concept. If you are weighing up family resorts in Nusa Dua, the most sensible comparison is Ayodya Resort Bali: both are large and beachfront, but the way you pay is completely different.

Paradisus: everything paid up front

The resort occupies the former Meliá Bali site, the group's first international hotel in Asia, after a major renovation. According to Meliá's official release, facilities include:

  • Four pools, eight restaurants (among them Malva, Peseta, Kanna Beach, Samira, Tokimeku and Arum) and three bars.
  • Kidsdom for children, a teens club for ages 13-18, and Aquazone with waterslides.
  • The Reserve, an adults-only wing for guests 16 and over, with its own pool, beach area and Sante restaurant.
  • YHI Spa with 12 treatment rooms.

The all-inclusive package covers meals at every restaurant, poolside snacks, 24-hour room service and a minibar restocked daily. Still charged separately: spa treatments, premium drinks (discounted) and motorised water sports. We do not quote official rates because they change by date; check when you book.

The downsides: the resort has only been running for about eight months, so service consistency is not yet proven. All-inclusive also nudges you to eat on site every night, even though Nusa Dua has worthwhile restaurants outside, such as Kayuputi at The St. Regis.

Ayodya: classic family resort, pay as you go

Ayodya opened in 1989 as the Bali Hilton International and now has around 537 rooms and suites on 11.5 hectares, with roughly 300 metres of beach on Mengiat Beach. Its family facilities are strong: Camp Ananda kids club, a 70 x 10 metre family pool, children's waterslides and splash pad, mini golf and trampolines. You pay for the room (usually with breakfast) and eat where you like, inside or outside the resort.

The downsides: the buildings are more than 35 years old, in a classic water-palace style, and the resort also hosts conferences, so the lobby and restaurants can fill with event groups.

What they have in common

Both resorts sit inside the gated, guarded ITDC Nusa Dua complex, about 13 km from Ngurah Rai airport. The beach on this side is usually calm because a reef shelters it, but at low tide the water turns shallow and rocky in places, so young children tend to spend more time in the pools than in the sea. Plan sea swims around the tide table.

Where to stay: the verdict

  • Choose Paradisus if you are a family with teenagers, want to stop counting food and drink bills, or are a couple who want the adults-only Reserve without switching hotels.
  • Choose Ayodya if you have young children but still want to eat out around Nusa Dua, prefer flexible rates, or are staying long enough that all-inclusive feels like overkill.

If you settle on Ayodya or another Nusa Dua resort, check the stay vouchers on AccessiaPass before booking directly with the hotel.

The simple maths: if your group normally eats three meals a day at the hotel plus drinks by the pool, the Paradisus all-inclusive premium pays for itself quickly. If you spend more time out, for example exploring the beaches and water sports of Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa, Ayodya works out cheaper.
